Family run, safety first
Douglass Civil Pty Ltd is a family-run stormwater drainage and civil contractor, owned and run by Brendon Douglass. Brendon was a plumber from 1999 to 2005, then spent 12 years with TRN (2005–2017), working up from pipelayer to foreman to project manager, before starting Douglass Civil in 2017.
Our team has people in key roles, including a construction manager, crew leaders, and HR and admin support. We have a core crew of 15–20, plus labour hire and subcontractors as needed.
We lay stormwater pipe, install pits and carry out excavation and civil works for builders, developers and head contractors. We run our own plant – excavators from 14 to 37 tonnes (Volvo and Sumitomo) and skid steers, plus fully kitted vehicles – so we can turn up with the right gear and get on with it.
Our aim is simple: work done safely, on grade and to the design, by a crew that turns up when we say we will.
What you can expect
Safety first
SWMS (safe work method statements) and daily pre-starts on every job. We work to each client's site inductions and toolbox talks, with trained and ticketed operators and crew.
Quality on grade
Pipe and pits laid to the engineer's design and on grade, with tidy trenches, bedding and backfill.
Our own plant
Our excavators and skid steers are maintained and serviced, so the gear is ready when the job is.
Reliable
You deal directly with the owners. We turn up, communicate clearly and finish what we start.
